Laughing

What makes you laugh?

Jake makes me laugh all the time. He’s so quick witted and snarky. My animals make me laugh. Animals at work. My coworkers. I laugh when I’m stoned, sometimes, depending on how much I’ve had.

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was five? I have no idea. I remember at some point in my childhood I wanted to be a dolphin trainer for some reason. Probably Free Willy (and yes, I realize Willy was a killer whale). I don’t know. As I got older I thought being a psychologist would be great, so I decided to major in psychology. Then I decided to double major and added on sociology (and I can’t forget to mention the philosophy minor). Then I eventually went back to school to be a vet tech, and here I am.

Hmmm…

What’s something most people don’t understand?

That’s a great question. Maybe…themselves? Do people spend enough time every day in self reflection? I don’t know. How about each other? We’re so quick to judge and give labels, but do we really know and understand each other? Somehow I doubt it.

My job would be so much harder without technology. We have microscopes, centrifuges, blood analysis equipment, surgivets (or equivalents), and we even have AI software to help with notes for appointments. And of course, computers. And so much more. No

How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Weather

What is your favorite type of weather?

Not too hot and not too cold. I enjoy thunderstorms and warm rain. I don’t mind snow as long as I don’t have to go anywhere. The snow is very pretty in the trees this morning. I exchanged some pictures with my dad of the landscape this morning. I enjoy spring weather. I enjoy fall weather. I enjoy beach weather. Spring and fall are my favorites, but in truth I enjoy something about all the seasons.

Teachers

Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

Mine was a professor. Professor Verschaeve. He was my inspiration to want to learn more about sociology and to eventually choose to major in it. He didn’t focus on theory like some professors, but instead, he focused on real life examples of those theories. He taught me about things happening in the world that I’d previously been ignorant to. In addition to being a professor he was also an editor, and he was a tough grader on papers. This helped me to be a better writer of research papers. We’re connected on Facebook. I should really reach out to him sometime.
